На утрене «Честнейшую» не поем, но поем припевы праздника.
По отпу́сте литургии иерей исходит через царские врата с кадилом, в предшествии диакона со свечой, и трижды кадит Крест на аналое; по традиции, лик в это время поет тропарь праздника, «Слава, и ныне» – кондак праздника. Затем иерей вземлет Честный Крест на главу и в предшествии диакона со свечой и кадилом царскими вратами вносит Крест в алтарь, полагает на престоле и кадит окрест престола. После закрытия царских врат и завесы Крест благоговейно относится к месту его хранения.

The Service of Apostle Quadratus is sung on September 22 (see Typicon). When celebrating the Service of St. Demetrius on this day, one can be guided by Chapter 1 of Mark’s Typicon for May 25: «And if the Finding of the Head of the Forerunner occurs… in the giving up of the Ascension…»
At Matins, we do not sing «The Most Honorable Cross,» but we sing the refrains of the feast.
After the dismissal of the Liturgy, the priest exits through the Royal Doors with a censer, preceded by a deacon with a candle, and censes the Cross three times on the analogion. Traditionally, the choir sings the troparion of the feast, «Glory, both now»—the kontakion of the feast. Then the priest takes the Precious Cross upon his head and, preceded by a deacon with a candle and censer, brings the Cross through the Royal Doors into the altar, places it on the altar table, and censes it around the altar. After the Royal Doors and the curtain are closed, the Cross is reverently returned to its place of storage.
- The readings of St. Demetrius (at Matins and Liturgy) are read if a service is being celebrated for him.
