Matins — John, Section 36, 10:9-16. Liturgy. – Circumcision: Colossians 254, 2:8-12. Luke 6, 2:20-21, 40-52. Saints: Heb. 318, 7:26 – 8:2. Luke 24, 6:17-23.
At Great Vespers, at «Lord, I have cried,» the stichera of the feast of the Circumcision are 4 and the stichera of the saint are 4, the «Glory» of the saint, and the «Both now» of the feast. Paremia. After «Now lettest Thou Thy servant depart» – the troparion of the saint twice and the troparion of the feast once.
At Matins, at «God is the Lord,» the troparion of the feast is sung twice, the «Glory» of the saint, and the «Both now» of the feast. At the polyeleos, the magnification of the saint is sung. The Prokeimenon and Gospel of the saint are sung. We don’t sing «More Honorable,» but we sing the refrains of the feast and the saint. First refrain: «Magnify, O my soul, the Lord who was circumcised in the flesh according to the law.»
At the end of Matins and at the Liturgy, the dismissal: «He who on the eighth day was circumcised in the flesh for our salvation, O Christ, our true God…»
At the Liturgy, instead of «It is truly meet,» we sing «In Thee He rejoices…»
